Understanding your Paycheck

Distribution of Payroll

The College of New Jersey does not issue paper paychecks.  All employees must enroll in direct deposit, or a Wisely card will be issued through ADP.  Pay statements are accessible through both Oracle Cloud and ADP.  However, employees are strongly encouraged to complete their account setup and view pay statements through ADP to ensure access to historical information after their service to TCNJ has ended.

Remember to enroll in Direct Deposit through Oracle Cloud.  Direct deposit enrollment ensures that you receive your pay on payday.  Find more information concerning direct deposit enrollment.

10 Month Paycheck Dates

Ten-month employees will receive their last payment for the 2023-2024 academic year on Friday, June 7, 2024.  The first payment for the 2024-2025 academic year will be Friday, August 30, 2024.

Biweekly Earnings Calculation

12 Month Employees

The state of New Jersey bases the gross biweekly earnings calculation on the number of workdays in the fiscal year. The number of workdays in a fiscal year for a twelve-month employee can vary from 260 to 262 days. In fiscal year 2023, for example, the number of workdays is 260. Therefore, in order to calculate the gross biweekly earnings, the annual salary is divided by 260.

Example: Fiscal year 2023 = 260 workdays

Biweekly Calculation: 260 Annual Work Days/10 Work Days Per Pay Period=26.0

Annual Salary: $30,000/26.0 = $1,153.85 Biweekly Earnings

10 Month Employees

To calculate the gross biweekly earnings for a ten-month employee the annual is divided by 22.
